My fast pacing needs a lot of work. Don't let the average for this run fool you. I ranged anywhere from 7:55 to 8:55. I need to learn to get into an 8:35 groove as easily as I can settle into 9 or 9:30. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Simple- seriously- do some interval work. Maybe 1/2 mile repeats at 7:30 pace or miles at 8:00 with some rest inbetween. You just need to teach your legs what it feels like to go a bit faster. That's tough to do only training with steady-state / long runs. You can do this on the road, track or trails.
